Old Elgin 1940 GM
C The Old Elgin 1940 GMC is a classic American truck from the 1940s. It was manufactured by General Motors Corporation (GMC) and was one of the first trucks to feature the new “Cab Forward” body style. The cab was placed further forward on the frame, giving it a more modern look and improved aerodynamics. It was powered by a 270 cubic inch “L-head” inline six-cylinder engine, and was available with either a three-speed manual or four-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. The truck was offered in both two-wheel and four-wheel drive configurations, and could be equipped with a variety of options such as a hydraulic dump bed and a snowplow. The Old Elgin 1940 GMC was a popular truck among farmers, ranchers, and other rural workers due to its rugged construction and reliability.
