Macallan 1988 JW is a single malt Scotch whisky from the Macallan distillery in Speyside, Scotland. It was distilled in 1988 and bottled in 2018. The whisky was matured in sherry-seasoned oak casks for 30 years and then bottled at cask strength of 53.4% ABV. It has a deep mahogany color and a complex aroma of dried fruits, sherry, spices, and toasted oak. On the palate, it is rich and full-bodied, with notes of dried fruit, sherry, cinnamon, and oak. The finish is long and lingering with a hint of smoke. This is an excellent whisky for those who appreciate complex and well-aged expressions.
