Laphroaig 1966 Special Vintage is a limited edition single malt Scotch whisky from the Islay-based distillery. It was distilled in 1966 and bottled in 2006 to commemorate the distillery's 200th anniversary. The whisky was made from a combination of first-fill and refill American oak casks and bottled at cask strength of 48.6% ABV. The whisky has a deep golden color and a complex aroma of peat smoke, seaweed, and dried fruit. On the palate, it has a smoky, peaty flavor with notes of honey and dried fruit and a long, smooth finish. This is a truly special whisky that captures the essence of Laphroaig.
