Karuizawa 1996
Karuizawa 1996 is a single malt whisky distilled in the Karuizawa distillery in Japan. It was released in 1996 and is considered to be one of the rarest and most sought after Japanese whiskies. The whisky is distilled from malted barley, then aged in ex-sherry and ex-bourbon casks for a minimum of 12 years. The whisky has a deep, complex flavor profile with notes of dried fruit, oak, and spices. It has a rich, full-bodied texture and a long, smooth finish. The whisky has won several awards, including a gold medal at the International Spirits Challenge in 2012.
