Karuizawa 1991 is a single malt whisky from the Karuizawa Distillery in Nagano, Japan. The whisky was distilled in 1991 and bottled in 2015, making it one of the oldest Japanese single malt whiskies ever released. The whisky was aged in a single Sherry cask and bottled at cask strength (59.2% ABV). It has a deep, rich color and a complex, intense aroma of dried fruits, spices, and oak. The flavor is full-bodied, with notes of dried fruits, dark chocolate, nuts, and spices. The finish is long and lingering, with a hint of smokiness.
