The whisky was distilled in 1973 and aged in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks for a period of 36 years before being bottled in 2009. The whisky is said to have a fruity nose with notes of apples, pears, and oranges, as well as a hint of smoke and spice. On the palate, it has a sweet, honeyed flavor with notes of dried fruits, toffee, and nutmeg. Highland Park 1973 is a rare and sought-after whisky, and it is considered to be one of the finest examples of Dalmore's whisky-making skills.
