Hanyu 1988

Hanyu 1988 was a vintage of sake from the Hanyu brewery in Saitama, Japan. The brewery was founded in 1671 and is known for its high-quality sake. The 1988 vintage was a junmai daiginjo, which is a type of sake made with highly polished rice and only water and koji (a type of fungus used in sake production). The sake was aged for 15 years before being released in 2003. It was highly acclaimed and awarded the Gold Medal at the International Wine Challenge in 2004. It has a complex flavor profile with notes of honey, melon, and pear. It is a smooth and balanced sake with a long finish.
