Chichibu 2009
Chichibu 2009 is a Japanese whisky crafted by Ichiro Akuto, the grandson of the founder of the Hanyu Distillery. The whisky was aged for five years in a combination of ex-bourbon and sherry casks. It is a single malt whisky with a rich, sweet, and smoky flavor. The whisky has a deep, golden color and a nose of ripe fruit, honey, and a hint of smoke. The palate is full-bodied and complex, with notes of oak, leather, and spice. The finish is long and smooth, with a lingering sweetness. Chichibu 2009 was awarded a Gold Medal at the International Wine and Spirits Competition in 2010.
