Chichibu 2008
Chichibu 2008 was a limited edition single malt whisky released by the Chichibu Distillery in Japan. It was the first whisky released by the distillery, which was founded in 2008 by Ichiro Akuto, the grandson of the founder of the Hanyu Distillery. The whisky was matured in a combination of ex-bourbon, ex-sherry and ex-wine casks, and was bottled at cask strength, with an ABV of 59.5%. The whisky was highly sought after, and has since become a highly collectible item.
