Bowmore 1997 is a single malt whisky from the Bowmore Distillery located on the Scottish island of Islay. It was distilled in 1997 and bottled in 2017, making it a 20-year-old expression. It was matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks and bottled at a cask strength of 54.8% ABV. The whisky has a deep golden color and a nose of sweet caramel, toffee, and peat smoke. On the palate, there are notes of dark chocolate, toasted oak, and a hint of smoke. The finish is long and complex, with a lingering smokiness.
