Bowmore 1989 SMWS 3.53 is an 18-year-old single malt whisky from the Islay distillery of Bowmore. It was distilled in 1989 and bottled in 2007 by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society (SMWS). The whisky was aged in a single refill sherry butt, yielding 591 bottles at a strength of 54.1% ABV. The whisky has a rich, sweet nose with notes of honey, toffee, dried fruits and a hint of smoke. On the palate, there are notes of dark chocolate, dried fruits, and a hint of peat smoke, with a long and warming finish.
