Bowmore 1989 DR
Bowmore 1989 DR is a single malt Scotch whisky from the Bowmore Distillery, located on the island of Islay in Scotland. The whisky was distilled in 1989 and bottled in 2015 by Douglas Laing & Co. as part of their Director’s Cut range. It was aged for 25 years in a refill hogshead cask and bottled at a natural cask strength of 51.9% ABV. The whisky has a deep golden color and a nose of sweet peat smoke, dried fruit, and a hint of citrus. On the palate, it has a sweet and smoky flavor with notes of honey, toffee, and a hint of spice. The finish is long and complex with a lingering smoky aftertaste. Bowmore 1989 DR is a complex and well-balanced whisky that is great for sipping on its own or as part of a whisky tasting. It is an excellent example of a classic Islay single malt and is sure to please whisky connoisseurs.
