Bowmore 1981 SMWS 3.16 is a single malt whisky from the Bowmore distillery in Islay, Scotland. It was bottled by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society (SMWS) in 2014. This whisky was distilled in 1981, matured in a refill hogshead for 33 years, and bottled at a cask strength of 55.4%. The nose is fruity and floral, with notes of honey, orange, peat smoke and malt. The palate is sweet and spicy, with notes of toffee, vanilla, oak and smoke. The finish is long and smoky, with a hint of spice. This whisky is a perfect example of Bowmore's classic Islay style.
