Bowmore 1979 CA is a single malt Scotch whisky released in 2017. It was distilled in 1979 at the Bowmore distillery in Islay, Scotland, and aged in first-fill ex-Bourbon barrels for 38 years before being bottled at cask strength. It is a limited edition bottling, with only 800 bottles released worldwide. The whisky has a deep golden color, and its aroma is filled with notes of sweet vanilla, toffee, and dried fruits, as well as a hint of peat smoke. On the palate, the whisky has a smooth, creamy texture and is filled with notes of dried fruits, honey, and subtle peat smoke. The finish is long and lingering, with a pleasant sweetness.
