Balvenie 1972
Balvenie 1972 is a rare and limited edition single malt Scotch whisky released by The Balvenie Distillery in Dufftown, Scotland. The whisky was distilled in 1972 and aged in oak barrels for a minimum of 40 years before being bottled in 2012. It was part of The Balvenie's Rare Craft Collection, a series of limited edition whiskies released between 2006 and 2013. The 1972 vintage was limited to just 1,000 bottles and was bottled at a cask strength of 49.2% ABV. The whisky has an intense, sweet aroma with notes of toffee, honey, dried fruits, and spices. On the palate, it is smooth and creamy with a sweet, fruity taste and notes of oak, toffee, and nuts. The finish is long and lingering, with a hint of smoke.
