Balvenie 1968
Balvenie 1968 is a single malt Scotch whisky that was released in 2020 as part of the Balvenie Rare Craft Collection. It was distilled in 1968 and aged in a single cask for 51 years, making it one of the oldest single malt whiskies ever released by the distillery. This whisky was made from malted barley, which was dried over a peat fire and fermented in traditional copper pot stills. It was then aged in a single cask for 51 years, before being bottled at cask strength with no chill-filtration. The Balvenie 1968 has a deep golden colour, with aromas of sweet honey and dried fruits, as well as hints of spice and oak. On the palate, it is rich and complex, with notes of dried fruits, honey, and oak, as well as a hint of smoke. The finish is long and smooth, with a lingering sweetness.
