Ardbeg 1975
Ardbeg 1975 is a rare and sought-after single malt Scotch whisky distilled in 1975 at the Ardbeg distillery on the Isle of Islay, Scotland. It was bottled at cask strength by independent bottler Douglas Laing in a limited release of only 8,000 bottles in 2006. The whisky was aged for over 30 years in a combination of refill American oak and ex-bourbon hogsheads, resulting in a complex and well-balanced whisky. The whisky has a deep golden color and a nose of ripe fruits, toasted oak, and peat smoke. On the palate, it has a smooth, sweet flavor with notes of honey, toasted oak, and a hint of smoke. The finish is long and lingering with a hint of peat. This whisky is highly sought after by collectors and is considered one of the best Ardbeg whiskies ever produced.
