Ardbeg 1974
Ardbeg 1974 is a single malt Scotch whisky distilled at the Ardbeg Distillery on the Isle of Islay, Scotland. It was released in 2004, a special edition produced to commemorate the distillery's 200th anniversary. This whisky was matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks and bottled at a strength of 46% ABV. The whisky has a deep golden colour, with aromas of peat, smoke, leather and sherry. On the palate, it has notes of dried fruit, toffee, smoke and peat. The finish is long, smooth and smoky. Ardbeg 1974 is considered to be a rare and highly sought-after whisky, with bottles now selling for large sums of money. It has been praised by whisky experts and enthusiasts alike, with some describing it as one of the best whiskies ever made.
